This is very shrewd and sensible, David. Not a direct answer to my curiosity (did Cowell go to Cisco/Lucent and if so how much did he get for an offer or was he spurned) but I am glad I wondered. Don't you want to know the answers to my questions too?

I've read so many analyses about why the merger is terrible or why it is wonderful that everyone who makes them seems to be wrong considering how astute the opposing argument is. :-)
