The AIG Financial Products Disaster
The financial products group at AIG was set up by a group of ex Drexel employees in 1987. Since 2000, the head of the group was paid $280 million before being fired at the end of 2007 after the group booked a loss of $34 billion. He has been kept on as a consultant being pain $1 million a month.
