I made an error on the Flash Op Income of ($39M) being AMD's portion alone. It is all of Spansion. It just so happens that the total Q4 Op Income of $20M differs from net income by the $49M in one time financing charges. The actual calculation includes taxes and other items, so it does not imply that the "pure AMD" op income is $20M (which would mean the ($39M) was AMD's alone).

The "pure AMD" operating income is actually about $37M this quarter, and last quarter would have been $62M, not $68M.

So the "real" operating income fell from $62M to $37M. Not good, but not as bad as $68M to $20M makes it sound.

Petz is correct on including all of Spansion in AMD's results. They should break it down differently, after the allocation to Fujitsu. It would lower the volatility.

Of course, this happens in net income. But this time, those one time refi/convert charges mucked that up. We really want an intermediate of "true operating income after minority charge/credit".
