OT: It's a big day in our household. My daughter (just turned 14) bought her very first share of stock. She purchased 1 share of Apple. Just by coincidence, my VERY first trade back in 1989 was none other than Apple.

She has numerous stocks on her watch list and has been waiting and watching patiently. Today she sends me a text "Oooh, I really want to buy today but what do you think about purchasing so close to earnings". How can a Dad not be proud of that statement? She thought about buying a second share but wanted to wait for a couple of weeks or so to see how things played out. She also mentioned that she was worried that she isn't diversified enough. :)

She's also watching GOOG, AMZN, YUM, DIS and DECK very closely. She really wants AMZN.

Just FYI ... this is an account that I created for her with some educational (college) funds in it that she can see .... mainly for education in the markets, seeing your money go up and down, watching stocks, etc. Removing the fear and the mystery and hopefully building a good habit for the future.

Sorry, had to share. I've been discussing the markets with her for some time now and teaching her how to research and value stocks and have been waiting patiently for this day.
