You see when the inflation started, It was before Carter. It was caused by this. The embargo spiked inflation in 1974, then it started to drift back down. Then it spiked again in 1979 through 1980 and started back down.

However, in 1979, there was another major oil crisis, often referred to as the 1979 oil crisis or the second oil crisis. This was triggered by the Iranian Revolution, which led to a significant drop in oil production and caused oil prices to more than double.
