My father never threw out anything that had a potential use or function, and sometimes things that did not. Once he built a device for pumping up his tires out of a refrigerator compressor and an old gasoline lawnmower chassis.

I cleaned out the shed at the lake house and found every electric shaver he ever owned. One of them I remember him using before I even went to school.
