Ahhh yes....Robt, a man who knows his regs. I agree that im many respects a purchase of shares by one in cubes position would not be ordinary. The reason i did bring this up was due to the fact that cube is in a precarious(sp) positon both market wise and media wise. You could say they are not your average tech melting down...but the only thing that will prove that are the numbers for the next few quarters. Your point about purchasing without public notification is very true...this would be a very grey area if possible at all. The IBM senario i mention happened atleast a year ago maybe 2...i think they stated they were going to repurchase X shares and have already purchased .X so far at the time of the release. Cubes cash might better be used to purchase some of smaller nich players in their industry....wouldn't MVSN be a neat play? Make everyone go through cube for their DVD Macrovison encryption, just as Matsu and Toshiba have done with the CSS encryption standard. I don't know enough about Macrovision, so use this just as an example...after all they just came public so i doubt they are in play.
