Tim; If you factor in inflation for the years 1949 forward, you will find that the millions in aid that we gave Israel was not chump change.

Simply because Israel is our ally is not a valid reason for continued US aid when they are financially capable themselves. Using your analogy the US should be getting aid from Israel; after all look at the strength and size of our enemies and potential enemies: China, Korea, Iraq, Iran, etc., etc.

As far as the aid to Egypt, that's another waste of money. A payoff for use of their land and the Suez Canal when needed. Egypt is no different than Israel in the respect that they too have their hand out for whatever they can get.
