Tim, you don't understand........treaties between countries is not what's going on between EU member nations.
Treaties between countries is exactly what is going on between the EU member states.

Ultimately, the hope is to have the US of Europe.....one nation with individual states like here.

Thats the hope of some, but not all the countries, and only a minority of the people in the EU countries. Most of the people don't want Europe to be one nation. Many of them didn't even support the single currency.

Tim, I will need to see a link. What you suggest runs in the face of all that's been discussed in Europe for the past ten years. The people are not stupid or uninformed. Why do you think Britain has hestitated? They are not ready to take the step that the others are taking. Damn, the Germans gave up the Deutschmark....that's like asking us to give up baseball.

Until I see links suggesting the opposite, then I continue to say your analogy is bogus and even more strongly, you are reading into things in order to justify your political perspective.
