Goldsnow, I watched Musharraf's speech live. He did say as reported. The fact remains that the attacks continue. If he does not understands or at least pretends to not understand, then India has offered to show him how to do so, that stop these terrorist attacks. India has not said that he should vacate as Israel did in the case of Arafat. All India says is that they will cross the Line of Control (LoC) into Pakistan held Kashmir and clean out the terrorist camps. The Indian army is not going to march to Islamabad.
It is important to understand that the ring leader of the group who killed Daniel Pearl and is in Pakistan's custody. is He is the same person who was in an Indian jail until the hijacking of a Indian Airliner. His release was secured as part of the negotiations of that hijacking and Pakistan sheltered him. So would you believe Musharraf at all. He should have beheaded that guy by now. At least in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Arabians who bombed the US Khobar Towers were summarily beheaded by Saudi Arabia very swiftly. The US wanted those terrorists to be extradited to the US for their "free trial" here in the US. But Saudi tried their citizens under their system of "swift justice" So my question is why is it Saudi Arabia can swiftly execute the terrorists who commit crime in their country, but Musharraf (A US ally) is dragging his foot on that guy who killed Daniel Pearl, a US citizen. And to pour salt on our wounds, they are revealing to us and our media Daniels mutilated body parts, thumbing their nose to us so to say.
So let us forget about Musharraf being our ally. That is why Bush has clearly indicated to him to act, whether it is in stopping cross border terrorism, or administering justice in the Daniel Pearl murder case. |
