Watson: I never disputed that we need that much electricity... and I agree that 128% increase over next 20 years would be great. But what you're failing to comprehend is "Mr. Witless'" statement that "Cheney's call to construction exaggerates, if not misconstrues, the nation's future energy problems" There cannot be "problems" unless those power plants are NOT ALREADY being planned for, correct?? Well, that's the author's point: they ARE already being planned for, and in fact planned power output is 20% higher than what Cheney says we need. So please reread the article and understand his points before going off on other tangents which have nothing to do with his article. His only point was that Cheney is calling for increased power plant building, yet industry is ALREADY doing so... a year before Bush/Cheney ever took control.
