Schlumberger wins large offshore Norway deal
OSLO, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Norway's Statoil [STAT.CN] said on Friday it had awarded oil service company Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB - news) a contract worth between 500 million and one billion crowns ($64 million and $128 million) for electrical well logging.

Due to run for six years, including renewal options, the deal covers a series of Norwegian fields as well as exploration off Norway. It can also be extended to other fields in Norwegian waters or elsewhere, Statoil said.

Statoil said the ultimate value of the contract depended on the activity level during the contract's lifetime.

The deal initially covers North Sea fields Statfjord, the Statfjord satellites, Gullfaks, Huldra, Sleipner East and West, Yme, Troll and Veslefrikk.

It also includes Norne, Heidrun and the Heidrun satellites in the Norwegian Sea.

Statoil said it was the ninth and final deal in the present round of drilling and service contracts, which all come into force this autumn and have a combined value of four to five billion crowns ($639.9 million).
