John Deere Chooses Manugistics to Create Intelligent Global Transportation Network
ROCKVILLE, Md., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Manugistics Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANU), a leading global provider of intelligent supply chain solutions for enterprises and evolving eBusiness trading networks, today announced that John Deere (NYSE: DE) will utilize Manugistics NetWORKS(TM) supply chain solutions to create an intelligent global transportation network designed to maximize customer service.
A Manugistics-powered transportation command and control center located at John Deere's Moline, Ill. headquarters will help the company manage inbound freight movements across multiple modes of transportation. John Deere expects to significantly enhance product flow to distribution centers, improve the complex routing of multi-point freight movements and enhance communication with carriers through Web-enabled collaboration. Manugistics' solutions are also designed to help improve capacity utilization at John Deere's fleet and distribution centers, improve service levels, and reduce costs.
An existing Manugistics customer, John Deere has already experienced improved product forecast accuracy and reduced process cycle time using Manugistics' intelligent supply chain solutions.
