IBM recently sold its entire Networking Hardware division, and its networking patent portfolio to CSCO for over $2B. IBM has left the networking hardware business.

That was the IP networking business. What a smooth move - dump the old technology, the dead end networking paradigm, while it is still worth something - to the biggest buyer - for the most bucks.

Then move into the next wave (ATM) by purchasing NN.
