Well, the problems of the Israeli party-list system has been known since before Israel, one reason why no other new nation of the 1900s have implemented the same, including "us"
However, the Israel, even religious, arguments for PR are interesting, athough I am still trying to figure out if that included pre-made party-lists.
Pollsters are also interesting, in general I try to catch the traditional "pollster-debate" on C-SPAN after most major elections.
There is, btw, a fairly active public as well as top-leader debate on polls and EU.
Btw, one goal of multy-party and PR systems is exactly that "stupid persons" should vote for "stupid parties", the rest of the mechanisms are trusted to limit both, and one never knows when something is actually very smart.
At this point one could, historically and academically, go back to both Thomas Acquino and Jefferson, actually to some of the very foundations of the enlightment of the 1700s as well as parts of the US constitution, at least the debate.
Sorry if I am mixing up polls and polls, europe usually use "gallups" for statistical stuff based on some 1200 or sometimes more, often less, selected and "polled" individuals, and "elections" when everyone has a chance to voice their opinion.

OK, you kicked my ass, need to search for those roots of "polls" |
