Samsung has also announced a Tri-mode CDMA phone. rcrnews.com I can get flat-rate roaming from Airtouch (800mhz CDMA) while in Primeco's 1900mhz network (Chicago, IL). It is to Airtouch's advantage to encourage me to buy a tri-mode phone. I like the idea of staying out of AMPS (Bell and CellularOne) whenever possible. But, it currently doesn't make a cost difference in my calling plan.
