Good post. The commercials perform a short sale that they can and actually want to cover with the physical. I think the large specs shooting up is good. It happened on the last run up to the spike. As long as the small specs don't get too high were OK.

You're right, the number of people trading gold is tiny compared to FOREX or stocks.
