Not any help. I have fumbled around a bit and am convinced that the problem is that WinME will just not execute the "updating hardware information database" routine. The machine just hangs there when either of two devices are plugged into the USB port or when I try the add new hardware function without anything in the port.
Went back to a 12/27 restore point without any luck.
What now coaches?
