Speakin' of eatin' - turkeys going to vote for an early Xmas. Words of wisdom here jewishworldreview.com

It's a bit like having a big pile of money. As $ill Gates says, spending it well is just as difficult as earning it. Philanthropic investing is not for amateurs. Any idiot can give money away, spend other people's money, waste it all and the effort that people put in to the spendthrift's demands. Spending it wisely is very difficult.

Same with voting. The idea that a monkey contributes anything by pulling on a voting lever while their brain is disengaged, is a lie perpetrated in democracies. Carrying it to extremes, some stupid countries actually legally require people to vote, which increases the probability that stupid outcomes are achieved.

The powerful have to be very, very careful in what they do. Monkeys on the end of a voting lever are very powerful. Scary thought. In India they vote to be poor, decade after decade. In NZ we've decided that's a good strategy too, but with more red tape and little bossy britches. What will the USA monkeys decide?
