Partly because much health care spending is in the hands of individuals who get to choose to have treatments they'd be denied elsewhere. Partly because they hold costs down below free market values. As a result they defacto piggyback off investments on research into new drugs and treatments that are aimed at making profits in the largely free American market. They get the benefit of being free riders. You think you're a genius, so I'll assume you understand the concept. They also hold down salaries of their health care workers, which is why you can find doctors from around the world in this country. But don't find American doctors flocking to socialized countries. We are still better off with a largely free market vs a socialized system.
