That quote came right after the Maytag layoff announcement in that article. Sure, Maytag is worried about Iraq. Give me a break! Other than oil related companies, what company would be influenced in their hiring by the war on Iraq? If Maytag can't make money in today's hot new housing market, they are indeed in deep trouble.
