Jock- I agree that we would ideally have more of a market break in the large-caps than we've had so far. I think Shane said the same thing yesterday. That will clear the air for the s/t bullish traders to come back in and also the more conservative l/t investors who are parking funds somewhere else. For more aggressive l/t investors and such die-hard LSI bulls as me and thee today was an irresistable chance to buy a company we bellieve in, in an industry we believe in, for nearly book value(with all the plant & equipment except for Gresham written off) and less than 80 cents on the dollar of trailing sales. If we are near the turn of the semi cycle, this will be an outstanding investment.
That said--Addi, please examine why you established your cash reserves in the first place. If it was to be able to take advantage of market opportunities then consider portfolio allocation. If you established the cash reserve for another purpose, please remember that purpose now and ask yourself whether you could forgive yourself if you "temporarily" used the money for something which might not work out. Best to you, Addi, whatever you do!
Today I invested another round of averaging down in LSI and truly
hope that we are gettting close to the bottom as I have now accumulated an 80% position and I would have preferred to have purchased the last 50% on the way up.
