JDN for awhile that was definitely true. As soon as I disclosed I was short a stock, the stock would immediately soar to new highs. I was a contrarian springboard for the longs. But lately things have been looking up for my dreaded short positions. ORCL fell apart and I closed out my CPQ PUTS for a nice profit after it went Kaput.
