Ah, it wasn't clear to me what point you were making. I'll take a look at the links but so far all I see are assertions without data. As in "everyone knows so no one needs to ask."

I don't doubt fraud is a problem. It's size and who is responsible for it and whether private insurance has similar problems is the question in my mind. I don't expect you to answer that.

My guess is that careful analyses like Ezra Klein include that issue to the degree it can actually be counted. Rumors and rumors of rumors can't be quantified.

So, to wind this up. I have no doubt fraud is present. I have no idea whether it's a nontrivial amount nor know of no serious way that could be answered. Ditto for comparisons with private healthcare insurance.

So the argument is off the table for me. For this conversation.

Obviously, to the degree it exists, it should be stopped.
