i think your analogy is incorrect. transparency and a sense of soundness would do wonders to bring liquidity back into these markets, and without those, it is unlikely any other fix will work.
if a patient is dying of a surgical urgency and i send in a doctor known to be a butcher to convince him to operate, one would hardly expect good results: either he will knowingly and understandably refuse the operation, or he will be pressured into it and likely die
