The unfortunate (IMO) truth is that slacker is correct. I wish I could claim authorship of the following, but, alas, I cannot. It is way more true than untrue, though. A public company is public in the sense that its sells bits of paper called equity and accedes to the polite fiction that shareholders own the company. In reality, what the shareholders own is a ticket to ride on the ship that other have built, others navigate, others load, and others steer. Kip
