To Stockman,

I had a day-dream today. I was the king of cpq. I wore handsome clothes made of the finest silks and tailored by the the most talented artisans. I had a bevy of beautiful young maidens bringing me financial data at my beck and call. And so, being the wise king of cpq that I was I asked myself - what can I do that would be in the best interest of my loyal subjects? How can I make them wealthy beyond belief? After all, my loyal subjects were cpq shareholders. I took counsel from my court - all wise men and women. some said buy intc, some said buy ibm; some said buy Seagate; Others said, "buy everything my lord - then you will be considered wise, prudent and will of course be all powerful. And then it struck me! Of course, I will take 4.8 billion in cash and buy 10% of the outstanding common stock of cpq. This will reduce the supply of shares driving up the price of the stock. My loyal subjects will pleased with their new found wealth and the kingdom will have lots of stock in its treasury to be sold later at higher prices.

Then I woke up.
