I don't have a problem with taxing those components of an estate that represent unrealized capital gains. Interesting. Of course all estates are income to the heirs. So you agree with passing along all of those other gains, untaxed to the heirs? Why is 6 bucks an hour income fully taxable, but multi-million dollars of unearned income (to the heir), not taxable? Word games are part of the problem with the tax code.
