I pretend nothing.

I expect the Supreme Court will rule in the not too distant future that the basic civil right of marriage also applies to gay couples. (Obviously that's not the current interpretation and i've never argued that it was.)

And i expect gay marriage will be legal and common in many/most states before that happens, much the way it was with interracial marriage.

There will never be an amendment to the U.S. Constitution banning gay marriage.
