Tom, yes indeed I have heard the modern day false prophets making their statements, "If it feels good , do it". They have led many astray to their doom. These poor people have built their life on the temporary, unstable foundations of worldly philosophy and self satisfaction. Change is the standard for them, and self-centered gratification is their god. The Bible on the other hand offers a permanent, stable foundation for building one's life. Only Jesus gives life.
It is my feeling that you will agree with the following.
"For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." (1 Cor 3:11 NASB)
Jesus never changes and is therefore a trustworthy foundation on which to build.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever." Heb 13:8: Vs. 13:8 yesterday. In the days of His life on earth (2:9; 5:7-8). today. As our high priest in heaven (4:15-16). forever. To secure and consummate our salvation (7:25; 9:28).
As a matter of fact, He is the only way to heaven. ""And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."" (Acts 4:12 NASB)
"Jesus said^ to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." John 14:6: Vs. 14:6 There are not many ways to the Father in heaven, only One--through Jesus (Acts 4:12).
Jesus is Lord! Have a blessed day in Christ,
David |
