When you lack any of these experiences, values and role models, it is hard to pull oneself up by one's bootstraps

When you have no desire to seek them out, it doesn't matter.

There have been any number of VERY SUCCESSFUL role models amongst ALL "minorities". And we see any number of them performing in professional athletics, but no one seems to want to discuss the profession businessmen or scientists.

But the minute we limit role models by their race, we have eliminated potential sources of personal inspiration that apply to ALL OF US...

This is not just a problem with "minorities" (I don't really subscribe to that term since we're all Americans of equal status under the law <if properly enforced>), but with all cultures. Whether it be killing someone for their Nike's, or hanging out with their "gangsta bros" listening to "cop killer" music, or gay-bashing, we're all seeing the impact in our youth.

If you look at the criminality of black youth, you have to ask a) is it because they are bad people, or b) is it because of bad circumstances.

That's like saying "guns kill people, people don't" (which is the inverse of the actual fact).

Listen... we all inherently know we shouldn't hurt one another because of the simple logic involved, "if I am justified in hurting them, they are justified in hurting me".

We know we shouldn't go out and seek a fight, but be prepared to defend ourselves and our families. And to claim that "bad circumstances" actually compels individuals to PREY UPON innocent individuals, raping, stealing, or killing them is just a cop-out, plain and simple.

Lord knows that there have been many times that I have thought about harming a few people who have p*ssed me off or acted to my detriment, but I have controlled that anger and put it in its place.

Are you telling me that blacks are incapable of rational control of their anger or that because of their "bad circumstances" they are made "irrational"?

Well then, if they are irrational, I guess that means they were temporarily insane at that moment and we should let them go free after they "get better"...

I personally don't feel that way. Too much freedom creates circumstances where people feel they can get away with anti-social behavior and violating the rights of others with impunity.

Society MUST HAVE laws against social violence, AND BE WILLING TO VIGOROUSLY ENFORCE THEM AGAINST ALL VIOLATORS.
We have all the laws we currently need RIGHT NOW. The problem is that we choose not to enforce them.

But now the liberals want hate crime legislation, creating special classes of victims, the existence of which will diminish the status of other victims. The gay murder victim will be found of more importance than the death of a child or prostitute, or any one of us common citizens.

This is just another case of placing band-aids on social wounds rather than the more demanding task of healing the entire societal body through a return to strict punishments for violent deviance.

And listen.. you know how I feel about drugs. I'm telling you that the statistical percentage of those who are imprisoned are there because of the violent or recidivist nature of their crime.

To me, this is a public health problem and should be handled accordingly.

What?! Are you advocating extermination?

Well, I'm not against capital punishment for undisputable convictions for murder, violent rape, and or violent mutilation.

Hanging, Zyklon-B, or the electric chair?

Regards,

Ron
