I don't think I can be judged or labelled with a simple sound byte, although you can if you wish. You would do me (and maybe the thread) a greater service if you would care to show me why I should reconsider my opinion rather than imply that I am a bad person or a moron as the other guy did here. Maybe there is important information that we don't know about. Post it. I welcome more facts and your opinions.

The sentence you quoted was part of a larger reply which was nuked by a freeze up here at SI and they stemmed from observations made during a trip to the Middle East in 1997. It would seem to me that the fanatical leaders of Islam are not the good guys no matter how we look at it, and in certain countries such as Lebanon, my perception during the visit is that it was/is a war between Islam and Christianity - at least there. Maybe the real conflict is even larger, more idealogical.
