Coty Leveraging Manugistics Networks(TM) To Unite Product Forecasting Across Europe
CANNES, France, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Manugistics Group, Inc., a leading global provider of intelligent supply chain and eBusiness solutions for enterprises and evolving trading networks, today announced that Coty, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer and marketer of fragrance in the mass and prestige categories, is leveraging Manugistics NetWORKS(TM) solutions to unite disparate forecasting processes across its European operations. Coty will be using Manugistics' software across all its product sets including leading brands such as Rimmel Colour Cosmetics, Davidoff and JOOP!
Coty, which operates two divisions -- Coty Beauty and the Lancaster Group -- is deploying NetWORKS at 27 installations in 15 countries to create one complete demand statement for production planning and management review. Incorporating data from international, new products, promotions and regular- goods forecasts, the centralised forecast will replace a patchwork of machines, software and systems currently used to predict customer demand. Analytical tools will help enable ongoing improvements in the system. Dutch, German, Swiss, and UK operations have already joined the new system, with the remaining countries expected online during the next six months.
Speaking at Manugistics' award-winning enVISION2000 conference, Rainer Bogensperger, Coty's European director of integrated demand planning, discussed the challenge of this pan-European implementation. "To unify forecasting across multiple countries and divisions, divided at times by language or types of systems used, requires more than a change in technology - - it requires a whole change in the way you do business," said Bogensperger. "Manugistics' solutions not only met our technology needs -- but its ease of integration with SAP made Manugistics' solutions even more attractive. More importantly, Manugistics showed it has the deep consumer product industry expertise and proven history of rapid results needed to support our long-term goal of creating a European-wide integrated supply chain."
Bogensperger added that once a unified forecasting system is in place, Coty intends to implement NetWORKS' intelligent distribution and deployment capabilities to further improve product fulfillment.
"Manugistics' solutions can help leading consumer product companies such as Coty integrate disparate planning processes across multiple divisions and countries to create a unified forecast with a consistent look and feel," said Michael Christensen, European vice-president of Manugistics. "And with a full suite of intelligent supply chain and eBusiness solutions, Manugistics can help companies throughout Europe create integrated supply chains that can significantly improve customer service, reduce operating costs, and enhance productivity."
