Hey mr mark,
How time flies when you're messing with Microsoft! Belated thanks for your advice a couple of weeks ago on duplicate files after upgrading from Win98SE to W2K pro.

Based on your info I have been able to reduce my number of duplicate files from over 17,000 (yes, 17,000) to under 4,000. And I expect to get more cleanup as time permits.
Also, thanks to your advice and others, I'm following some interesting newsgroups and newsletters I didn't know about before. It's good to have friends in the business!
