Lower federal taxes but only while transferring some of the functions of the federal government to state and local governments.

I really thing this one concept could the the heart of a new coalition.

To call the framers of the Constitution geniuses sound trite by my Lord the system they gave us is so beautiful. Give local governments wide latitude to do whatever seems right to the elected leaders. Limit what the Federal Government can do to a small set of essential carefully defined tasks. Local excesses are automatically checked because if they screw things up too bad, tax payers will up and leave - a right guaranteed by the Federal Constitution.

We're a couple of generations removed from the stigma given the phrase States Rights by the segregationists. The time is right to reintroduce the country to one of the foundations of our greatness.
