From my perspective, I understand that there are tons of uninformed folks out there who have no idea how important the South Louisiana area is to the nation's economy as a whole and who are biased against us because of our "reputation," which in actuality is no worse than the stuff you see elsewhere, and therefore I want to emphasize the overall economic importance to the nation of healthy coasts in Louisiana.

It really is pay a little now or pay a lot later. Katrina was just a taste.

It's either that or we'll have to secede, a tongue-in-cheek option that's looking better by the day.
