Tuesday March 17, 10:50 am Eastern Time Noble Drilling down in heavy volume

NEW YORK, March 17 (Reuters) - Shares of Noble Drilling Corp (NE - news) fell 1-15/16, or 7.51 percent, to 23-7/8 in
heavy volume of 1.2 million shares, but both the company and analysts said there was no fundamental news behind the decline.

''There is no news; it looks like some people decided to get out,'' said Lewis Kreps, analyst at Dain Rauscher.

The decline comes ahead of the U.S. Minerals Management Service central Gulf lease sale, the results of which will be known
on Wednesday and which are expected to show a decline from a series of record-breaking sales.

However, Kreps noted that Noble has very little exposure to the Gulf of Mexico.
