In many ways the Canadian Conservative party is more socialist than the NDP, if you look at their actions rather than the rhetoric or labels.

But in any case the reality is that the NDP has no chance to win. In fact, their rise is the only chance the Conservatives have to win a majority.

Otherwise there will be a Liberal/NDP coalition government, which IMO would be the best possible outcome. Because the NDP support is so concentrated the Liberals would almost certainly have the most seats of the two.
