Naviscope ...

I've been using Naviscope for a while now and I'm quite pleased with how it improves the speed of SI sessions.

I choose not to leave it running or have it load automatically: hence, I execute it before Explorer and close it before disconnecting dial-up. I've noticed that things go smoother if I pay attention to the order I do things. Establish dial-up, Naviscope, then browser. Once finished, close browser, Naviscope, and disconnect dial-up.

Changing this order has caused some minor irritations.

Naviscope doesn't recommend doing things my way. They recommend executing Naviscope at start-up and leaving it running continually. Since Internet stuff only accounts for a tiny part of my computing, I disregard their suggestion.

As for speed, SI pages appear instantly, a pleasant improvement for dial-up users.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. So far, 3,000 advertisements blocked.
