Why CAU?

mish, CAU has what I believe the largest deposit in north america, 10 million oz at their macdonald mine. ralph-emerson says in a reply it is an election play, but it is more than that.

the gov't gave CAU leases on macdonald and then the populace passed a law banning cyanide use in mining. the law passed 52-48 but the industry was prohibited against advertising their story. a local judge has upheld the law (his decision was politically motivated) but it is being appealed and if not overturned at the State level it is likely to be overturned at the federal level. I have a copy of the appellate brief if you'd like it.)

if the law isn't overturned by the courts, it is likely to be overturned by the voters. there is a referendum on the ballot nov 04. russwinter and a friend of mine have talked to the ceo. it is clear that the populace thinks they were hoodwinked by that law. (remember, they couldn't get the mining industry's side because advertising was banned, a rule that has since been struck down by the courts). montana's economy is in shambles. not only is the mining safe, they need the jobs and the state gets a 5% royalty.

russ has a couple of good posts on june 20.

think about how much money can be made on 10 million ounces. their market cap is $30 million.
