I think it best if we all wait until tomorrow and hear the announcement as the last few posts seem like a bunch of speculation. The dip in the price today is likely more a product of the overall weakness of tech stocks, which is not likely over for a few weeks, so I am not too concerned about IOM. But I do agree with all the stated limitations of a mechanical drive replacing CF. I understand that Sony is only using the 3.5 disk until it comes out with the "stick memory" device anyway. (NOTE, I do not know what "stick memory" is other than being told by an engineering friend who designs and builds eprom programers and who first introduced me to Sandisk as they are one of his customers for his programers, that stick memory is a new kind of memory device being designed by some Japanese companies. Plus, I sure would not trust a bunch of floppies with my pictures from the Greek Islands as I traveled back home. How many times have you had a floppy error from which you lost data? Thus you would have an unstable mechanical device and an unreliable storage medium. See, this seems so ridiculous that we are likely far off target as to what the announcement will actually be.
