OneMain.com Appoints Senior Management Team

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 12, 1999--Stephen E. Smith, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, today announced the appointment of several members of the senior management team of OneMain.com (Nasdaq: ONEM). Martin R. Lyons has been hired as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Cristina Dolan as Executive Vice President and Chief Content and Strategic Alliances Officer, Scott Hoyt as Vice President of Marketing and Daniel Greenfield as Director of Corporate Communications.

On March 25, 1999, OneMain.com raised $187 million in the largest Internet initial public offering in history, selling 8.5 million shares to the public.

Martin R. Lyons, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of OneMain.com. spent three years at America Online where he was Director of Network Operations. Following his tenure at AOL, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sprocket Labs, Inc. a technology consulting firm. Mr. Lyons' responsibilities at OneMain.com will include management of the network infrastructure and all technical issues. Mr. Lyons joined OneMain.com in October 1998.

Cristina Dolan, Executive Vice President in charge of Content and Strategic Alliances, was previously the Director of e-Commerce Sales Strategy for Oracle Corporation for the Americas. Formerly, she was the Director of Operations and Technology for the ABC Multimedia Group. She was also a Director at Hearst's New Media & Technology Group, responsible for the operational and technical aspects of the HomeArts site successful launch. She received her Masters from the MIT Media Labs in 1994. Ms. Dolan will be responsible for establishing relationships with advertisers, content providers and local networks, as well as building the geographic communities within the OneMain.com network. Ms. Dolan joined OneMain.com in January 1999.

Scott Hoyt, Vice President of Marketing, joins OneMain.com from Arch Communications Group, the third largest paging company in the United States, where he was Division President of United States Sales and Marketing. Prior to that he was Vice President of Marketing for Arch Communications, and before that, he served in a similar capacity at PageNet, Inc., the second largest wireless messaging company in the world. He also handled regional sales and marketing for Skytel and McCaw Cellular, now AT&T Wireless. At OneMain.com, Mr. Hoyt will be responsible for community-based marketing, advertising and brand creation for OneMain.com. He will also head up OneMain.com's customer service division.

Daniel Greenfield, Director of Communications, most recently served as Senior Manager of Corporate Communications for MCI WorldCom, Inc. At OneMain.com his responsibilities will include forging relationships with new and existing hometown ISPs and handling community public relations.

OneMain.com, based in Reston, Virginia, provides Internet access and related services throughout the United States to individuals and businesses located predominantly outside of large metropolitan areas.
