Study Finds DB2 Customers Plan to Migrate to Oracle

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- ( oracle.com ) With the pending release of Oracle9i(TM) Database, IT departments that have traditionally turned to IBM plan to turn to Oracle to provide the highest levels of reliability, scalability and security. Recently, AMR Research, an industry and market analysis firm, published a report on E-Commerce and Technology Spending (November 2000) indicating that 11 percent of DB2 customers surveyed plan to change their primary database over the next two years and out of those customers planning to switch, 70 percent plan to migrate to Oracle. Perhaps it is because customers know only Oracle offers the industry's leading Internet database. Or maybe it is because only Oracle9i Database will bring performance and reliability to new levels through Real Application Clusters backed by powerful "Cache Fusion" technology. Whatever the case, customers are choosing Oracle as the Internet database for 2001 and beyond.

NOTE: Oracle is a registered trademark and Oracle9i is a trademark or registered trademark of Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL).
