To me it was never about how much it's going to cost our family.

Same for me. I didn't look at the question until yesterday. Still, with the reality upon us, we have to deal with the personal impact, if any. As I'm doing my taxes, it's natural to wonder when the change to the tax code kicks in and when I will no longer be able to deduct medical expenses. Should I change my withholding for next year or not? Regardless of the long term implications for the country, gotta deal with next year's withholding.

It's about what the govt is going to do as they forge their way toward a one payer system.

I can't see how an initiative to do that could be brought forward until the new program has been implemented. This thing is exhausted for quite some time, seems to me.
