My thinking is the larger players like cisco have more leverage to either buy into the softswitch market or develop it themselves... customers are less interested in dealing with many smaller players, thats just the reality.

Even in software - a company like BEA who has a superior product is getting edged out by the giants IBM and Oracle, its happening everywhere.
