<<Jeff, I said: don't panic.....long term they will come back....>>
Hi, all. Yeesh! I go to work, come home and all H*ll breaks loose! That fat lady sure sings loud! At this point I'm still some 70 posts back on the thread, but I thought I'd comment a bit now.
First some congratulations to the ASND nay-sayers - they were clearly right regarding this quarter. I never would have thought Q3 would be THIS bad, so congratulations - you win the Q3 round!
That said, and being long ASND, I thought I'd offer a few thoughts.
1) Panic? - No way. If ASND had LOST revenues, contracts or current accounts, then maybe, but this is clearly not the case. These are DELAYED REVENUES. They will return in Q4.
2) ASND now has full control of how to proportion revenues from the recent UUNET and NTT contracts. Speculation was they would try to get in 25% of the UUNET contract and some of the NTT contract into Q3.
Perhaps taking these revs in Q3 would have still left a significant shortfall. They now can elect to "take" more or all of this revenue in Q4. This would now be wise to do.
3) Keep in mind ASND has already fallen 13+ points on fears of this shortfall, so a big drop from here would be way overkill, IMO.
4) This does not change future prospects in any way. No lost contracts, lost sales or customers.
5) For my part, I'm going to watch the action and pick up some more at nice low prices at some point. I'm primarily a long term investor, particularly in my retirement accounts. I've got plenty of time to go before retirement and shares purchased at points in the "frenzy" of the next couple of days will look great in 6 months and forward, IMO. I still have to believe ASND in the $20s is a superb investment. |
