Asteroid concerns are silly. Global warming is not. Knowing the difference defines a wise person. I am not sure if we have to go that far to find wisdom. But assuming it is the acid test, I guess I failed. When I heard that story about the asteroid, I could not come out from under my bed for 15 minutes. This is really traumatic. What kind of paranoid are you? Asteroids could wipe out ALL LIFE ON EARTH IN SECONDS! Global warming could take a thousand years to even be sure there is any lasting effect, much less whether we are causing it. Plenty of time. If you want real scare value, I vote for asteroids. I am building an asteroid shelter in my basement today. Putting an air conditioner in for global warming will have to wait for a budget yet to come. Besides scientists say it is too late to do anything about carbon dioxide unless we want to build absorbers the size of the Pacific Ocean. We just have to wait and bake, if. My conservative hero is Ed O'Neill. He founded MAM, and my guess that is that is one of the more sagacious conservative organizations out there. Grass roots support was so great they had to collapse the email list in 18 months. Nobody could handle it. I guess us MAMsters will have to remain the silent majority. MAM is just right of Attila the Hun on most social issues. If it is weak and defenseless, attack it. If it is liberal bake it. If a war has not been started in a year, then find out why or start one, which ever takes less time. The definition of right and wrong is in the bible. Right is conservative, and wrong is liberal. Those who do not work should not eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10) That silent majority thing of Nixon's is hard to deny. Whenever there is no response, it is your constituency of support at work. The old stonewall. Who would have thought that an underwhelming dumb silence could be the end of the debate? If everyone does not agree and doesn't say so, then the motion is carried. EC<:-}
