Jefferson-Klitschko almost set
By Flattop

Contracts are being signed this week by the Derrick "D-Train" Jefferson camp for a March 24 fight with WBO champ Wladimir Klitschko. The heavyweight title fight will be tape delayed on HBO from Germany. Cologne, Hamburg and Dusseldorf are in the running to host the fight.

"It's the fight I have wanted for a long time. I am going over to win the belt back for my homeboy Chris Byrd. Chris didn't lose the belt, they took it from him!" commented Jefferson. "Big D" is 6' 6" weighing in at around 245 compared to the 6' 7" 236 pound Klitschko. Wladimir decisioned Byrd on Oct. 14 to win the WBO belt that older brother Vitali lost to Byrd earlier in the year.

"I don't think [Klitschko] has the heart, the aggressiveness or tenacity to match me. His biggest fight before Chris was his when he quit against Ross Purity," said Jefferson. A proposed undercard fight between the Clifford "The Black Rhino" Etienne and Francois "The White Buffalo" Botha has unraveled.

LPS5 note: LOL! Byrd did indeed have the belt taken from him, in the form of a crushing victory dealt by Klitschko. In the headliner, I'd give the slight edge to Jefferson though. And, w/regard to my man Cliff vs. Botha, well, I'd have to give it to the Rhino, though...other than vs. Lewis, Botha often has some tricks up his sleeve. Not tricks that win him fights, though, just tricks that allow him to survive.

Will it be his third time in a row KO'ed (Tyson, Lewis, Etienne)? At this point, I certainly think so.
