Bill,
One thing I know: he will try. And that's more than can be said for his predecessor.
It's better not to try than to try a bad idea, no matter how "pure" his motivations are.

For example, using tariffs to "solve" the fentanyl crisis is a bad idea. There are no reasonable concessions on the part of our three largest trading partners that can make a dent in the supply thereof.

How do I know? Because we tried it before. It was called the War on Drugs.
