It wasn't my opinion, but Juan Cole's. My opinion was only that Bin Laden isn't talking about US "states" but nation-states.
  Of course, if all the red states start getting attacked and not the blue states, then I stand to be corrected.
  Observation: Two of three states which were actually attacked on 9/11 voted for Kerry. Even in Virgina, home of many working at the Pentagon, the vote was fairly close.
  NY: Kerry	3,950,309 	58% PA: Kerry	2,868,674 	51% VA: Bush	1,673,080 	54% DC: Kerry	183,876 	90% (not a surprise)
 
  More than any state, NY has reason to fear yet voted Kerry. Even Manhattan voted overwhelmingly for change.
  Bronx - 92% Brooklyn - 74% Queens - 71% Manhattan - 82%
  Open question to all, why? It seems these voters, who arguably have as big or bigger stake in the "war on terror" than anyone, wanted change in leadership. |
